About the Event

********************Rules and Regulations********************* Last date of registration for ALOKIT by NIICD is 25th September 2020. 1.    Performance should display traditional and classical style, taal, technique and repertoire. 2. Live/Recorded music is permitted. 3. In case the performance is on live music, the participants may arrange their own accompanists for their     submissions/videos. 4. Number of participants: 1 per entry (Solo Entry) 5. Categories are Junior (8 yrs. to 12 yrs.), Sub junior (13 yrs to 17 yrs) and Senior/Advance (18 yrs and above). 6. Sub-Junior: 8yr to 12yr and Junior: 13yr to 17yr (The students in the junior and sub-junior categories will be required to present any pure classical composition from Margam of Bharatanatyam) Sub-Junior: 8yr to 12yr 7.    Senior Group (above 18yr): Criteria given below. 8. The participant should wear proper costume and makeup. *******************Steps to UPLOAD ENTRIES/VIDEOS********************** -Videos for Competition Entries should be uploaded before 10th October 2020. -You must tag the NIICD (National Institute of Indian Classical Dance) 'social media pages' in the video and the video description. -Facebook: Like the page and tag in your post. CERTIFICATES will be SIGNED BY our respected GURU SAROJA VAIDYANANTHAN JI. ***********COMPETITION SPECIFICATIONS FOR AWARD SUBMISSIONS************** Senior (Advance): 18yr and above The participants of the Senior (Advance) Category will be required to give their portfolio for becoming a nominee for the ABHINANDAN SAROJA AWARD. The portfolio must consist of the following things: 1. Learning experiences since the participant first started learning Bharatanatyam (min. 500 words) 2. Choreograph 5 JATIS specially composed and given to us for this event by our beloved Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan Ji. (Videos) 3. Achievements in Bharatnatyam 4. Future plans to promote the Indian Classical Dances of India 5. (Optional) Any contributions to the society, for example, any kind of social work being done by the participant, etc.
